The 43-meter M/V Lucas is here and ready for your customization!

Just a few weeks ago the M/V Lucas motored into the HYS Yacht Conversion Facilities in Subic Bay, Philippines. This roomy, immaculately maintained, 43 meter former Japanese government fisheries patrol vessel is the latest (and largest) stock vessel we’ve ever purchased.

Now she’s ready for you to start the customization process into a full-on luxury yacht of your very own for an estimated price tag of only US $5m (subject to final specification).

Original Build: 1992 (Niigata Engineering, Japan)
LOA: 43 meter
Main Engine: 1800 HP (MAN B&W Niigata)
Engine and drive train have been newly overhauled

HYS naval architect Simon Jupe to adjudicate at the Young Designer of the Year Awards

HYS naval architect Simon Jupe has been chosen to participate as one of 12 judges for the prestigious 2012 Young Designer of the Year Awards.

Sponsored by Camper & Nicholsons International, the Young Designer of the Year Award is a worldwide initiative launched to uncover the industry’s up-and-coming creative talents, by celebrating the best of superyacht design from the boards of student and trainee designers.

The winning designer will receive a prize of €5,000 and will be invited to accept the prestigious golden Neptune Award during Boat International’s ShowBoats Design Awards gala evening at Monaco Opera House on 22 June, where they will have the opportunity to network amongst the most prolific designers and builders in the superyacht industry.

Northern Sun – converted by HYS Yachts for US $6m – on the market for US $15m

Back in 2006, HYS completed the top-to-bottom conversion of the 51-meter M/Y Northern Sun. Upon re-delivery the total cost of the project totaled a mere US $6 million dollars. After enjoying this luxury masterwork for a number of years, the owner is offering her to the market for nearly three times the original build price.
